It’s one of those cute phrases that pops up on Instagram when you least expect it.

But I’m starting to see that there is truth in these words.

How often do we put things off?  Avoid the uncomfortable?  Avoid putting our own needs first?  How often do we resist asking for help?

Then further down the line, the chickens come home to roost…

I would say the thing I resist the most (and one I’m still working on) is acceptance.

I’m a perfectionist.  I want order and I want control.  But my lack of acceptance of what is right now – whether that is a lack of control, disappointment, illness, queuing, taxes, dogs barking, kids complaining – has a funny way of persisting the more I fight it.

Recruitment processes are full of resistance.

Whether it’s resistance to change, resistance to new peoples’ way of working or resistance to technology.  Our job as recruiters is to ease the resistance and help businesses see the areas in which their recruitment processes are holding them back from achieving their goals.

What is it that you are putting off?  What is happening in your life right now that you aren’t accepting?
