It still surprises me that there are still people who aren’t on LinkedIn.
I joined in 2009 after I realised the potential of recruiting via social media instead of always having to rely on job boards. It has proven to be a great way of attracting passive candidates who aren’t actively searching but are open to opportunities.
Nowadays, LinkedIn is saturated with Recruiters all doing the same thing and I often hear form clients that they are bombarded by dozens of Recruiter requests every day.
I probably get 40+ spam emails a week from people trying to sell AI, CM systems and business utilities.
Yet, I still advise that people keep their LinkedIn profile up to date. The reason for this is that LinkedIn IS your CV and keeping it updated as a working document saves the hassle of having to start a CV from scratch and remember all your achievements and projects. It also keeps you open to new opportunities, even if you aren’t actively seeking change.
What do you think to Linkedin?
