Quality Manager
K.A.G. Recruitment Consultancy are delighted to be working with our client a Leader in the Pet Food Manufacturing industry to recruit a Quality Manager into their expanding business.
Role: Quality Manager
Package: Competitive salary + Bonus, 3 months accommodation when arriving to Esbjerg and Relocation Support
Location: Esbjerg, Denmark
Purpose of the Role:
To support company strategy by implementing an effective and appropriate quality procedure to minimise customer complaints & defects, optimise plant performance, prevent loss and wastage, and improve procedural compliance. Supporting in excess of 100 Retailers working across the Europe and UK, you will be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of Quality Procedures, Audits and have the ability to support recipe production and development.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- The lead and drive the developments needed for implementation and maintenance of the Food Safety Management System in line with the requirements of the BRC Global Standard food and customer requirements
- Ensure QMS, food safety, due diligence systems are in control at all times.
- To work with Production to ensure that all products and processes are safe and in compliance with specifications, statutory obligations and best industry practice, and Overall Hygiene GMP/ HACCP prerequisites policies are appropriate for the business.
- Leadership of the of Quality team to include training, recruitment and adherence to company procedures to ensure the production of safe quality food.
- Assist R&D in the introduction of new products and processes pre-production trials with customers and value engineering of raw and packaging materials.
- Manage Internal Audit system to ensure internal quality system audits are carried out and corrective actions assigned and implemented.
- Report to the management team the performance of the QMS and areas for improvement. Set Quality objectives and measure performance to ensure that the objectives of the quality policy are realized.
- Work with supplier technical representatives to minimize incoming quality problems that lead to customer dissatisfaction
The ideal candidate will be educated to Degree level ideally in a Food Science/ Food Technology/ Engineering/ Quality or equivalent Science related discipline.
You will have previous experience in a QA/QC/Technical capacity with a background in Pet Food/Food Manufacturing and have excellent Team Leader/ Management skills with the ability to lead from the front whilst working in a challenging environment working to BRC standards.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, development and implementation of a QMS to a recognised accreditation standard.
