NPD Technologist

K.A.G. Recruitment have been instructed exclusively to support our client a leading food manufacturing company who are looking for an NPD Technologist to join their existing team based in Ellesmere, Shropshire.

Job Title: NPD Technologist
Location: Ellesmere, Shropshire
Salary: £26,000
Hours: Monday to Friday – 8 30am to 5 00pm

Purpose of the Role:
You will work as part of the NPD team to deliver concept to launch product development that both meets the customer requirements and is in line with business KPI’s as well meeting the key dates set.  You will look at regular market trends coming up with new ideas for new products.

Duties:

  • Modification and development of products in line with customer requirements using the development process and carrying out tasks in the correct order
  • Reviewing and assessing the data gained from trials and analysis and escalating for guidance from the Senior NPD Manager to allow you to carrying out the appropriate actions
  • Supporting in customer benchmarking and quality panels
  • Manage the workload of multiple customers and prioritizing requirements with guidance from the NPD manager on critical paths
  • Reviewing and understanding customer policies and using that data to overlay the development procedure to ensure all products comply with the correct policies
  • Ownership of existing processes with a continuous improvement approach working in line with business requirements
  • Writing/supporting on submission forms, specifications (internal and external) and customer required technical documents to meet customer deadlines
  • Work interdepartmentally with Operations and Commercial team to ensure product trials are successful
  • Ensure accurate records are available for accessing and viewing by relevant personnel
  • Attend and support product launches
  • General cleaning and hygiene maintenance of the NPD kitchen area.
  • Managing stock rotation and ingredients.
  • Collection of ingredients from the factory and ensuring the kitchen is always fully stocked.
  • Maintaining levels of cleaning supplies and reordering when necessary.
  • Support with sealing and packaging customer samples through equipment in the kitchen or on the factory line.

Key Skills/Requirements:
You will be a confident communicator who possesses excellent planning and organisational skills along with the ability to work efficiently and to agreed timescales. You will be a highly motivated self-starter who is comfortable communicating with people at all levels. You will be computer literate & proficient with standard Microsoft packages.   This opportunity would suit a graduate or college leaver who is passionate about starting their career within the food industry.
