General Manager

K.A.G. Recruitment are looking to recruit a General Manager to join our client, one of the UK’s most progressive circular economy companies based in Cumbria.

Role: General Manager
Location: Penrith, Cumbria
Package: £50,000 (OTE)

Purpose of the role:
To drive growth and increase efficiencies throughout the depots area. Lead the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of depot operations.

Duties:

• Develop ongoing strategy and vision for Supply & Collect in the depot in conjunction with the Manging Director, Scotland.
• Reinforce and improve the depots culture and performance with regard to Safety, Health, Environment & Quality
• Establish and maintain an engaged and skilled team.
• Facilitate growth by increasing company’s market share in the depot area for feed stock.  To be achieved through organic growth.
• Ensure that all costs, collection, delivery and haulage are minimised and that the depot is operating as efficiently as possible.
• Increase and improve staff retention to minimise costs and support succession planning
• Increase overall employee engagement levels
• Introduce new and improved Six Sigma\Lean processes throughout the depot
• Continue to develop the business to establish more barriers to entry through the use of USP’s
• Develop all management subordinates to assist with company succession planning
• Support the Manging Director, Scotland on other special projects

About You:

• Experience in the UK waste industry
• Previous roles in operations, asset management and customer origination
• Proven track record in building and developing a depot
• Good working knowledge of management accountancy techniques
• Minimum Yellow Belt – Six Sigma, IOSH certification is highly desirable
• Strong work ethic, ambition and attention to detail
