Job Title:  Factory General Manager
Location: Shropshire
Package:  Upto £80K DOE

Your experience within the Food Manufacturing industry will mean you are comfortable leading teams who are responsible for delivery within the Factory whilst ensuring that you set the best example to them, championing the site and working with senior stakeholders to effectively prioritise initiatives. Making sure that team members have the right skills and attitude, ensuring they are developed, and ready to progress will be second nature to you. The business is fast paced and demanding so you will need to be confident and decisive in your approach.

Accountabilities:

  • You will lead, motivate, coach and develop the operational unit and wider teams to achieve the goals and targets set.
  • Utilise staff and equipment in a manner which will maximise the production of a quality product in a safe environment.
  • Ensure all legal and legislative requirements are adhered to and up to date.
  • Manage and control departmental costs effectively to include energy use, water usage, effluent cost and all other aspects of the overhead spend.
  • Maintain high standards of personnel welfare to include training, and health and safety practices.
  • Maintain and motivate an engaged workforce, overseeing the annual performance management process for all colleagues.
  • Ensure effective stock management for RM and finished goods.

You will support the development and delivery of the business plan for site in line with the overall Operations, Business Strategy and Values.
You will have previous experience working at Factory, Operational or General Management level within the Chilled Food/Manufacturing industry, preferably within the meat sector and have worked to BRC standards.  A natural leader with an analytical mindset who possesses resource-management skills and has the ability to work effectively and communicate well in a demanding environment.
