Engineering Supervisor

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Supervisor to join our client in their fast-paced Engineering team. The Engineering team is responsible for minimising operational downtime and maximising operational efficiencies through ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of the plant and machinery.

Hours of WorkDays and back shift – Monday to Friday 06:00 till 14:00 and 14:00 till 22:00 rotating every other week

Purpose of The Role:

As the Engineering Supervisor, you will lead in technical analysis of operational issues to identify root causes and implement highly effective countermeasures using rigorous and well documented methods. Provide updates to senior management on technical issues with the appropriate level of technical and cost detail. Plan and execute capital project using established project management methods achieving the project on time and on budget. Work with purchasing department to procure capital projects, manage the installation and commissioning of equipment, systems and facilities associated with this.

Duties of the role: –

·Implement and sustain a highly organised and well documented maintenance management system for manufacturing equipment, utility systems, and facility systems.

·Ensure an equipment criticality analysis is complete on all assets and on a register and put in place a preventative maintenance plan.

·Develop a plan to ensure the progress of asset availability to 95%. Ensure that 100% of preventative scheduled routines are completed for A rates assets following criticality review whether that is weekly, monthly, or yearly.

·Conduct RCA’s and reviews of existing maintenance methods including reactive works and preventative/ predictive maintenance routines. Implement changes to prevent future failures particularly on A rated assets as the PM programme is designed to prevent failure of these assets.

·Have a complete picture of the labour utilisation of the entire maintenance team both internal and external and implement and maintain an effective spares management system.

·Reduce the energy, water m3/t, waste t/t, CO2 t/t to help C&D group meet the ABP group sustainability targets.

·Develop appropriate safety and training procedures for all engineering, projects, and maintenance activities.

·Develop and implement the continuous improvement plan for the engineering department and present and defend all aspects of engineering maintenance and calibration during regulatory agency inspections.

·Ensure that accurate weekly and monthly reports are communicated together with routine benchmarking activities to demonstrate value.

The ideal candidate will have worked within a similar fast paced environment, you will be an excellent communicator with the ability to give direction and challenge in a professional manner. A results led, proactive, driven approach is required with the aim to succeed within a demanding environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and will possess recognised industry qualification in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering to minimum NVQ L3 and also be 17th edition qualified.
You will have a can-do attitude and an aptitude for fault finding and logical thinking.  Knowledge of PLCS and Servo Motor Principles is essential along with the ability to read, understand and work with schematic drawings.
