Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00 to 16:30, Friday 8:00 to 16:00
K.A.G. Recruitment are excited to bring to you an exciting exclusive new opportunity for a Controls Engineer to join our client, a trusted supplier of aluminium flat rolled products based in Bridgnorth.
Purpose of the role:
To ensure uninterrupted operation of the assets operating in the Finishing Department by reducing unplanned downtime, equipment failures and breakdowns while ensuring all assets are maintained adequately to operate within their designed capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the maintenance of services (low voltage distribution, machine supplies, machine IT network, emergency safety circuits) in the area of responsibility.
- Maintain close contact with suppliers and contractors and keep up with the development of new products/services as well as technical/technological advancements in electrical engineering, asset management and reliability.
- Contribute to the in-house development of the Computer Maintenance Management System.
- In support of the engineering function, you will develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures, as well as associated guidelines for the design and maintenance of equipment within the Electrical Maintenance department as appropriate.
- Assisting Engineering & Manufacturing Management in specific tasks relating to monitoring and improving energy consumption.
- Contribute to the Technology and Innovation (T&I) initiative, develop, document, and monitor project processes.
You will be educated to a minimum of HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering and possess 3-5 years of engineering experience in a similar field or industry and have good working knowledge of engineering procedures and systems to fulfil the Maintenance Duties and Responsibilities.
You will have the ability to think analytically and motivate and communicate effectively with direct reports and peers as well as line managers.
The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of Siemens PLC’s, SCADA controlled systems and understanding the operation of AC and DC Drives and of AC/DC Motors.
