Multi Skilled Engineer

Due to internal promotion we have an amazing opportunity available for an experienced Engineer to join our client one of Europe’s leading privately-owned food processors at their site in Ellesmere.

Job Title: Multi Skilled Engineer 

Location:  Ellesmere

Salary: £32,000 to £36,000

Hours of Work – 4 on 4 off – 5 30am to 5 30pm/5 30pm to 5 30am

Purpose of the role:

As a Site Engineer you will possess a strong technical knowledge and be seen as the shift expert in at least one area of the factory or type of machinery. Working as a member of your shift team you will be responsible for maintaining the equipment OEE and minimising downtime. You will be accountable to the Engineering Manager/Assistant Managers but will report into and receive direction from your Engineering Supervisor regarding the day to day activities you will undertake.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Record and log maintenance requests and fault repairs, attend breakdowns and repair in a timely and controlled manner.
Progress reporting to Engineering Management / Supervisor
Must be proactive to complete scheduled work plans, start-up checks etc. in a timely manner
Carryout special projects as required by the Engineering Management team
Comply with health and safety and food safety legislation

Liaise with the production team to ensure we supply our customer in a timely manner

It would be highly advantageous to have experience within Food Process Machinery

The ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum of ONC/NVQ in an Electrical related discipline with 17th edition qualification, you will also ideally have completed an apprenticeship or an equivalent formal training programme in installation and maintenance that includes relevant practical experience.

You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to take direction and challenge in a professional manner along with proven experience of planned maintenance systems, breakdown maintenance and installations and knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

It is highly advantageous that you have experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Engineering Manager

We have an amazing opportunity available for an Engineering Manager to join our client one of Europe’s leading privately-owned food processors at their site in York.

Job Title: Engineering Manager

Location:  York

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 DOE

Hours of Work:  Monday to Friday Days– (45-50 Hrs per week)

Purpose of the role:
The Engineering Manager will be tasked with reviewing Machinery performance & Efficiency and developing the Preventative maintenance strategy, Analysing preventative Maintenance and Effectiveness, Reliability engineering techniques, Route cause analysis, Condition monitoring and analysis. C.I Initiatives, Energy Reduction, Planned Maintenance Schedules, Engineering Training, Standard Operating Procedures, Capital Projects.

Duties:

  • Provide leadership for the engineering function to ensure that each site’s systems are being developed and are delivering continuous improvement through robust management systems and KPI measures
  • Support sites technical issue resolution and completion of improvement actions through the provision of expert advice and guidance.
  • Support site engineering team’s development and coach individuals towards improved performance and achievement, thereby assisting Business Units to achieving targets and key objectives.
  • Develop engineering KPI’s to ensure visibility of supply engineering performance and required improvement for site, Division and Group review. Profit through efficiency improvements and risk management being key drivers
  • Identify and share best practice and contribute to raising awareness, improving performance and transitioning to a “pro-active” engineering culture
  • Work with Site GMs to identify appropriate engineering training and implement within each Site to ensure correct competence levels are achieved and maintained.
  • Develop and maintain standards in relation to building construction involving liaison with suppliers, Group procurement and Health & Safety
  • Understand and be able to advise on best practice in Food Engineering standards
  • Oversee implementation of strategic premises/interruption protection projects across ABP as required
  • Help develop & promote high standards of electrical installation and safety across the business
  • Promote the development of existing and new standards for key items of equipment and facilities

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager with great leaderships skills to lead and inspire a fantastic existing Engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a Manufacturing environment managing effectiveness on preventative machinery.  You will be looking to progress from your current role having had experience of managing teams and leading shifts in the tasks required.

You will be a confident communicator who is looking for a challenge and an opportunity to progress working for an industry leader.  You will have a natural foresight to take both the role and team forward and be analytically minded in terms of forward planning for preventative maintenance but with the ability to priortise tasks and motivate your team.

Stock Controller

We have an amazing opportunity available for an experienced Stock Controller person to join our client one of Europe’s leading privately-owned food processors at their site in Doncaster.
Job Title: Stock Controller
Location:  Doncaster
Salary range – £17,000 to £23,000 DOE
Hours of Work – Monday to Friday – 8 00am to 4 30pm

You will idelly have experience within an Engineering parts background and have a good understanding of Excel in order to generate reports, graphs and documents and maintain all engineering parts and stock at site.

Duties and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following :-

  • The day to day management of the engineering stores including stock management.
  • Sourcing and ordering of spare parts and equipment through multiple sources.
  • Budget control including generating reports for tracking of spend.
  • Driving the department forward including development of the stores assistant.

You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to take direction and challenge in a professional manner along with proven experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
