PMO Specialist
We have been instructed to recruit a PMO Specialist to join our client ERIKS, a technology driven, specialist industrial services provider offering a wide range of mechanical engineering solutions and technical services to a broad spectrum of industries based in the West Midlands.

Location: Oldbury – Hybrid – 3 Days in, 2 Days at home
Salary: 40,000 – 45,000
Purpose of the role:
As the PMO Specialist, you will provide overall support in the effective delivery of strategic and tactical transformational and business change across our UK&I business.
Duties:
- To assist in the creation and implementation of PMO and PPM best practice and standards to maximise adoption and usage to minimise resistance across the wider business.
- To provide a centre of expertise and develop consistent standards and procedures, including training materials, templates, and guidance in their tailoring across a range of programme and project sizes.
- To design and support governance and reporting for strategic initiatives and programmes.
- To evaluate those programmes and projects are following good practice and note any factors that unnecessarily adversely affect the duration or outcome of a programme or project, so that these can be avoided in the future.
- Balance and optimise the portfolio, in terms of strategic goal attainment vs. delivery capacity/capability and business as usual priorities.
- Evaluate benefits across several programmes and projects to identify gaps, overlaps, and conflicts, and eliminate double counting.
- Provide an aggregated analysis of gated reviews to formal boards e.g., SteerCo.
- To collect, collate and consolidate data, reporting upwards to Executive Management Board (EMB) and undertake a check and challenge sessions with key stakeholders.
- To provide secretariat support to relevant key strategic initiative meetings, preparing agendas and collation of papers, scribing minutes and actions and follow up on progress.
- To be the custodian of the document management system (including team channels) and provide the relevant artefacts where appropriate.
- To oversee the PMO mailbox ensuring queries are dealt with in a timely manner.
You will ideally be qualified to P30 Foundation, MSP Foundation and qualified / chartered or membership in project management e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMI etc, and possess previous experience with processes, policies, and protocols on PMO services.
