Senior Engineer

Due to continued growth, we have a new opportunity available for a Senior Engineer to join our client one of Europe’s leading privately-owned food processors at their site in Doncaster.

Job Title: Senior Engineer
Salary: Up to £55,000
Location: Doncaster
Hours of Work: Monday-Friday –  07:00 – 16:00
Reporting to: Engineering Management

As the Senior Engineer you will lead and support the Engineering team and possess a strong technical knowledge within the Engineering arena.
Reporting to the Engineering Management team you will support and lead on Engineering projects and identity opportunities for development and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical engineer on site.
• Support the Engineering team to quickly respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults and carry out repairs to site equipment.
• Identify and address root causes of recurring failures.
• Support and lead engineering projects, new equipment installations and process improvement projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and lower maintenance costs.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant legislation.
• Carry out risk assessments and follow safe systems of work.
• Develop standard operating procedures for engineering tasks.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and apprentices, sharing technical knowledge and best practice.
• Provide training to engineers and operators on maintenance activities.

You will be experienced within the field of FMCG or Food Manufacturing Maintenance and ideally have completed a HNC/HND or Apprenticeship in Engineering.  You will have a strong background in fault finding techniques and PLC Systems.

Knowledge of SCADA systems and strong Project Management skills would also be highly advantageous along with the ability to work alone or as part of the wider team.
